Stabilizability and Stability Robustness of State Derivative Feedback Controllers
We study the stabilizability of a linear controllable system using state derivative feedback control. As a special feature the stabilized system may be fragile, in the sense that arbitrarily small modelling and implementation errors may destroy the asymptotic stability. First, we discuss the pole placement problem and illustrate the fragility of stability with examples of a different nature. We...
متن کاملStabilizability by state feedback implies stabilizability by encoded state feedback
Encoded state feedback is a term which refers to the situation in which the state feedback signal is sampled every T units of time and converted (encoded) into a binary representation. In this note stabilization of nonlinear systems by encoded state feedback is studied. It is shown that any nonlinear control system which can be globally asymptotically stabilized by “standard” (i.e. with no enco...
متن کاملFeedback and positive feedback stabilizability and holdability
Consider the following problem. Given a discrete-time linear system, find, if possible, linear state-feedback control laws such that under these laws all trajectories originating in the non-negative orthant of the state space remain non-negative while asymptotically deteriorating to the origin. This problem is called feedback stabilizability-holdability problem (FSH). If, in addition, the requi...
متن کاملStability Results for Some Periodic Feedback Controllers
We propose two periodic feedback schemes for the stabilization of periodic orbits for one dimensional discrete time chaotic systems. These schemes can be generalized to higher dimensional systems in a straightforward way. We show that the proposed schemes achieve stabilization of a wide range of periodic orbits. The proposed schemes are quite simple and we show that any hyperbolic periodic orbi...
متن کاملNonovershooting linear multivariable state feedback tracking controllers
We consider the use of linear multivariable feedback control to achieve a nonovershooting step response. A method is given for designing an LTI state feedback controller to asymptotically track a constant step reference with no overshoot and arbitrarily small rise time. Results are given for both minimum phase and nonminimum phase multivariable LTI systems.
